Description
NEXPLANON® is a contraceptive implant that provides long-term birth control. It is a small, thin, flexible plastic rod that contains the synthetic hormone etonogestrel, which is released into the body over time to prevent pregnancy.
Composition:
Each NEXPLANON® implant contains 68mg of etonogestrel, a synthetic hormone that is released into the body over time.
Side effects:
Some common side effects of NEXPLANON® include irregular menstrual bleeding, headaches, weight gain, acne, breast pain, and mood changes. Rare but serious side effects may include blood clots, stroke, heart attack, liver tumors, and ectopic pregnancy.
Packaging:
NEXPLANON® comes as a single implant packaged in a sterile applicator.
